Sugar Wax Manufacturer / Supplier

Good Sugar Wax is a Science

You will discover sugar wax on the market that varies in quality - excellent quality sugar which isn't sticky or too hard and is pliable / elastic and you get the not so good quality sugar which is very difficult to work with or not at all. Trust us, we have tried them all!

Our sugar has been through rigorous testing and refining, and we are proud to say that you will not find sugar on the market of the same superb quality as Beautiful Bodies' sugar. We are confident that once you have used our sugar, you will never consider any other sugar wax or even traditional wax. You may use our sugar wax with strips or as you would normally use sugar by working it with your fingers.

Just give it a try, we assure you, we will not disappoint!

Packaging

Our Sugar is packaged in white heat resistant plastic 500 gram containers with screw on lids.

Wax Warmer

Heating the Sugar Wax (Instructions)

Sugar Wax doesn't need to be very hot - slightly warm is the perfect temperature for sugar wax. Not every warmer heats to the same temperatures and the sugar and the ambient temperature will also determine to what temperature one would heat the sugar. Our best advice and recommendation is to test the sugar at different temperatures and see what works best for you. Find your individual "sweet spot" or "niche" that you prefer the sugar to be used at.

The type of treatment will also make a difference - would you be using it with strips or folding the sugar? If strip wax, the wax would need to be slightly warmer and more liquid or runny. If folding the sugar, a thicker consistency would work well.

The two methods of warming the sugar:

Microwave heating

Remove the lid and on the lowest or second lowest power (20% -60%) of the maximum (100% power) setting of the microwave, warm the sugar for approximately 30 - 45 seconds. Remember, it does not need to be hot, just warm enough to work with (strips or fingers). Stir if necessary to the same consistency throughout.

Wax warmer heating

Remove the container lid and place in the centre of the wax warmer. Close the wax warmer with the warmer's lid. Most conventional wax warmers have a setting from 1 to 5 or 6, 6 being the highest temperature. With normal wax, you would use the warmer on the higher settings (5 / 6) however with sugar wax, the ideal setting is an initial heat setting of 3, maybe 4 and once warm, still thick but elastic consistency, turn the setting down to 2 or 1 to keep the sugar warm and at the right consistency. Our containers fit nicely into both types of warmers and can withstand the heat.

* Do not overheat the sugar as it has a tendency to crystalize if heated consistently at higher temperatures.

Good practices

Best use practices - some inside info!

The following tips and best practices will be beneficial when it comes to our Sugar:

Close the wax when not in use - when finished with the sugar, it is always a good idea to close the container with the lid as the sugar interacts with the open air and may become sticky as a result.

Never overheat the sugar - if the sugar is overheated, the sugar can crystalize. Try using the warmer at settings of 3 and under for optimal warming of the sugar.

Be careful with hot sugar - if the sugar is overheated or too hot, be very careful when handling it as the sugar can cause severe burns.

Do not use the sugar if over 6 weeks - if over 6 weeks (which should never happen), dispose of the sugar and order a fresh container.

* Sugar that is too soft

The idea is great, and it spreads like a dream however it tends to adhere less to the hairs and therefore isn't as effective as balanced or regular sugar. It is also very messy and tends to stick to / remain on the treated area.

* Sugar that is too hard

You will not be able to work with it and it doesn't spread very well / easily. As a result, when applying the sugar "pulls" on the hair and is very painful when applying to the treated area.

Directions of use

Warm the sugar to the optimal temperature using microwave or wax warmer. The wax warmer can take up to an hour to heat the sugar to a nice consistency.

PREPARATION

Always use a suitable skin pre-toner that opens the skins pores and has anti-bacterial properties (we can recommend a good one). Prepare the treatment area / skin by cleaning with the solution and cotton pads.

When dry, sprinkle a very light layer of talc powder over the treatment area and gently spread it around the area with your hand.

STRIP WAXING

Use a metal spatula or alternatively, a wooden spatula. Scoop a healthy portion of sugar using the spatula and apply a thin layer against the direction of the hair growth - it should be a similar area size as the strip you will be using. The layer of sugar should be fairly thin - the thinner the sugar is, the less it will hurt the client. Remember, sugar pulls on the hair so when runny, it applies easier and is less painful.

Allow approximately 5 to 8 seconds before applying the strip. This allows the sugar to do it's magic and seep into the pore and hair follicle. By doing this, you also increase the chances of the treatment being more permanent.

Apply the strip to the treated area and using your fingers, "stroke" the back of the strip a few times to allow the sugar to adhere to the strip.

Then with your other hand, tighten the two ends of the treated area (tighten the skin gently) and with your other hand, pull the strip quickly in the direction of the hair growth (with the hair growth).

CONVENTIONAL SUGAR WAXING (USING FINGERS)

Using sugar using this method is usually done by experienced and trained sugar therapists. Training may be required if you have never used this method before.

Please get in touch with Beautiful Bodies to arrange training if you wish to use this method.
